Red Carpet Favorites

The Golden Globes was, as always, a little messy--the mics were weird, the wandering around the tables was weird, the shots of the audience was weird. The production of the event felt loose-y goose-y.

I also felt like I was more familiar with the TV shows than the movies, which is odd. I'll try and catch up--I want to see Fences, Jackie, Hidden Figures, La La Land, Lion, Hacksaw Ridge, Moonlight, Arrival, Nocturnal Animals, and MBTS.

Of course, I loved Meryl's speech (and Viola Davis' introduction... wow). I cried. I clapped. I just loved it because it was true and just and right.  (via NYTs)

I loved Andrew Garfield giving Emma Stone a standing ovation when she won. (via Elle)

I loved Donald Glover. (via Slate)

As for the fashion, everyone looked happy to be there and glowing. It's cool to see everyone dress up for an event--I imagine it's so much fun to find a dress, get dolled up, go to a party with people you admire and love, and just boogie down. The men looked so handsome, and the ladies were beautiful! A couple of my favorites:

Emma Stone in Valentino: She was in a movie about Hollywood, and she's sporting beautiful, tasteful, ethereal stars! That light shade of pink is just so pretty on her.

Issa Rae in Christian Siriano: I watched Insecure during the snow storm this weekend and I just loved it. I was really rooting for Issa in the best actress category... but it wasn't meant to be. I thought she had a real shot. She looked so sophisticated and beautiful in this dress. I'd spill red wine on it and ruin it in a second--she just totally rocked the all white look.

Ruth Negga in Louis Vuitton: She looks part fembot part 1940s jazz singer and I love it--liquid metal. Her eye makeup is also amazing.

Viola Davis in Michael Kors Collection: She was shining brightly in this beautiful, slinky but

Naomie Harris in Armani Prive: This was just such a pretty dress on this beautiful woman--the texture, the line, I loved it. It was modern and beautiful.

Ryan Gossling: Hey girl, you're so handsome and your speech was so sweet and you looked like a million bucks.

Sienna Miller in a Michael Kors Collection dress: I loved the simple lines of this dress. It stood out from the embellished dresses and looked beautiful on her.

Dev Patel might be my favorite guy in Hollywood right now. He's so kind, and sweet, and handsome, and a wonderful actor... Nicely done!

Drew Barrymore in Monique Lhuillier: I loved Drew in this dress--she looked like the chic hippie she is, and paired with her pretty long hair, I thought this was such a standout.

Donald Glover: who knew a brown velvet suit could be handsome and not totally dorky and overly 70s? Nice. And different.

Gina Rodriguez in Naeem Khan: the shimmery beading on this dress was fringe-like and picked up the light so well. She was glowing and I loved it!

Priyanka Chopra in a Ralph Lauren dress--she looks so beautiful here--the gold brocadem the deep v-neck, the long sleeves--it's just so tasteful and festive!

Thandie Newton in Monse: She looked like she was on fire. And I totally thought she was going to win this one--she was amazing in Westworld.

Octavia Spencer in Laura Basci: That navy tuxedo is so unexpected and fun! And her makeup, she was just beautiful.

I'm into Mozart in the Jungle, and Lola Kirke rocked the red carpet. Her dress was pretty and all, but her accessories where were it's at.

Who were your favorites?!
