Monday Music: Rayland Baxter
For some reason I've been really into Hozier's Jackie and Wilson lately. Like, have just listened to it on repeat in the car a couple times because I love it so much. When I heard about Rayland Baxter and that people were saying he was in the same vein as Hozier and Shakey Graves I was like, rad, and immediately listened. They weren't wrong. He's a little Alexander, a little Delta Spirit, a little Dr. Dog... it almost feels like a September evening. Something you're listen to around a campfire.
Rayland Baxter is easy to listen to, he's got a croon and a voice that leaves you handing from verse to verse. His songs are stories and he takes you through them in a beautiful way.
Let's take a listen.
And here's Jackie and Wilson, just in case you want to hear it, too. :)
