Exploring Boston: The Boston Public Library
Boston Public Library: Copley Square
I'm a big fan of the library. The Boston Public Library at Copley Square (the central library) is a wonderful spot--there's a water fountain in a courtyard, concerts, talks, so many fun and wonderful things. You can request books online and they let you know (via email) as soon as it's in. Pretty cool, no?
I go the the BPL regularly, I've been to events there, I've seen Berklee musicians perform in the courtyard, I've explored exhibits, I even went to a benefit there and jumped into the fountain (so. much. trouble.). It's beautiful and has tons of different rooms, different architecture, and so much stuff to see! There's even a cafe where you can grab a bite!
If you live in Boston or are visiting Boston, I highly recommend a stop by this wonderful place. They're doing renovations at the moment, but the beautiful spots are still open. Go upstairs to the famous reading room and see the green lights and people diligently studying.
Explore the rooms on the second floor and find the magical nooks and crannies of the library.
Go back down to the first floor and check out the map room--it always has an exciting exhibit that's sure to impress historical nerds, visitors, and Bostonians alike!
You might even find some books you'll want to peek at or take home.
