What to Watch: Trailers

I love Shakespeare and this was one of the first tragedies that really hit home for me. Can't wait to see this adaptation with Marion Cotillard, Michael Fassbender, and the producers from The King's Speech.

From the producers of THE KING’S SPEECH comes the feature film adaptation of Shakespeare's Scottish play about General Macbeth (Michael Fassbender) whose ambitious wife (Marion Cotillard) urges him to use wicked means in order to gain power of the throne over the sitting king.

On another note... this looks kind of hilarious and amazing and I love Greta Gerwig.

In MISTRESS AMERICA, Tracy (Lola Kirke) is a lonely college freshman in New York, having neither the exciting university experience nor the glamorous metropolitan lifestyle she envisioned. But when she is taken in by her soon-to-be stepsister, Brooke (Greta Gerwig) – a resident of Times Square and adventurous gal about town – she is rescued from her disappointment and seduced by Brooke's alluringly mad schemes

There has been a dearth of good romantic comedies. This looks like it might be sweet (although I'm not sure I'd see it in the theater...)
Two strangers stuck in Manhattan for the night grow into each other's most trusted confidants when an evening of unexpected adventure forces them to confront their fears and take control of their lives.

As a history nerd, this totally appeals to me. I love action movies, I love history.

A dramatic thriller set against the backdrop of a series of historic events, DreamWorks Pictures/Fox 2000 Pictures’ “Bridge of Spies” tells the story of James Donovan, a Brooklyn lawyer who finds himself thrust into the center of the Cold War when the CIA sends him on the near-impossible task to negotiate the release of a captured American U-2 pilot. Screenwriters Matt Charman and Ethan Coen & Joel Coen have woven this remarkable experience in Donovan’s life into a story inspired by true events that captures the essence of a man who risked everything and vividly brings his personal journey to life.

It's Meryl. Obvi I want to see it (no matter how silly it might be).

It's been a roller-coaster ride for Ricki Rendazzo (Meryl Streep), a one-time wife and mother of three who left her family behind to follow her dreams of rock 'n' roll stardom in California. Now, the singer and guitarist must face the music when she returns home to Indiana to reconnect with ex-husband Pete (Kevin Kline), troubled daughter Julie, engaged son Josh and younger son Adam. Filled with regret, Ricki hopes to find redemption for all of the bad choices that she made in the past.

How they choose when to release movies.

Also... have you heard that Leonardo DiCaprio is going to star in an adaptation of Devil in the White City? (One of my all time favorite books?!)
